Grants In Action

The Thomas Scattergood Foundation takes pride in the projects our grants facilitate.  Through the support of the Foundation, our partners are able to conduct important research and provide vital services to those in the behavioral healthcare community.  Below please find examples of the work our grants have funded.

Center for Nonviolence and Social Justice

MacArthur fellow and Chair of Drexel University’s Department of Health Management and Policy, John Rich, MD, PhD, has started the Center for Nonviolence and Social Justice through a grant from The Thomas Scattergood Foundation. The Center focuses on trauma as a public health issue and will develop programs to support victims of violence.

The Scattergood Program for the Applied Ethics of Behavioral Health

ScattergoodEthics was launched in the spring of 2007 as the only program of its kind, devoted to the ethics of behavioral healthcare. It develops curricula for training practitioners and policy makers and sponsors public events for the Philadelphia area. Its website, ScattergoodEthics.org, serves as a clearinghouse of information and resources in the field.
